Special handling of postal items during transfer and delivery.
Handling of postal items implies services under which the sender, when submitting the item, requests a special procedure with the item in all or certain phases of performing postal services. Such items in domestic postal traffic have a registered number of receipt.
For all registered items, the sender is obliged to indicate their address, unless the item is marked with “for competition”, “for bidding”, etc.
Registered Letterpost Items
Registered letterpost item is a registered item, with no indicated value, for which the sender is issued a receipt confirmation, and for which the recipient, upon delivery, signs a proof of delivery.
Registered items must contain, in the upper part of the address side, a receipt number marked with “R” and a bar code. Tracking the status is performed based on the receipt number on the corporate website of the Post, in the segment Tracking the item status or by contacting the Call Center at 0700 100 300
All letterpost items, except for addressed direct mail, can be submitted as registered. Registered items are not allowed to contain money, securities, and other valuable items.
When submitting a registered postal item, the sender may, in addition to its handling. also request the following services: sending a registered postal item with a return receipt and delivering the postal item marked "Personal".
Insured Letter (letterpost item with insured value)
Insured letter is used for sending valuable objects, documents, and securities.
Insured letter is a registered letterpost item, insured by the sender up to the amount of indicated value, which must correspond with the actual value of the item, or with the importance of the item to the sender, but it is also allowed to indicate a part of that value.
When submitting an insured item, the sender may request the following services: sending a registered item with a return receipt, COD items, delivery of the item marked “Personal” and Electronic confirmation of delivery - SMS message.
Personal Delivery Item
The sender can request a service of delivering the item exclusively to the recipient or caretaker which has to contain a visible label or a written mark “personal” in the upper left corner of the address side.
Which articles are prohibited from being sent by mail?
Postal items must not contain: dangerous and harmful substances, objects the transfer of which threatens the health and life of humans and other postal items, narcotics, except when the recipient and the sender are authorized by law to traffic in drugs; live animals, money, coins, banknotes, other securities, precious metals and valuable pieces of jewellery, except in insured postal items, and other goods and object the transfer of which is prohibited by law and other regulations.
