The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, in consultation with the President of the Republic of Serbia, has decided to enable pension payments for citizens to be performed with special authorizations, as well as through delivery.
Starting Tuesday, March 24th, citizens who have not previously authorized anyone to collect their pensions can do so with a special authorization for a person who, in their name and for their account, will be able to collect a pre-determined amount of pension with their personal ID and the ID of the pensioner.
Authorization must be done without contact - maintain a safe distance of two meters at all times and sanitize hands immediately upon delivery of the pension. An example of the authorization was issued by the National Bank of Serbia, but it can also be drawn up in free form, with mandatory indication of the personal data of the pensioner and authorized person, the current account number, the name of the bank and the amount to be paid (in numbers and letters). The authorization must be signed in order for it to be accepted.
All pensioners who do not authorize another person to collect their pension should call the contact telephone number of the bank in which they have a current account and state the address and the amount they wish to receive, and the Post of Serbia will deliver the pensions to them under urgent procedure. Banks will also contact these customers independently through a contact center or SMS starting today, March 24th, so as to notify pensioners as soon as possible on how the payment will be realized. The National Bank of Serbia has issued detailed instructions for banks' actions in the payment of pensions in the current situation.
The full cost of the delivery will be borne by the Republic of Serbia, so that the pensioners will not incur additional expenses due to the new situation caused by COVID-19.
The Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior will be available to the Post of Serbia during the distribution of pensions.
Also, all pensioners who hold payment cards can hand them over to a trusted person, so as to make purchases for their needs.
This decision aims to meet the needs of the oldest fellow citizens and in this way the Government once again demonstrates that they will do whatever is necessary to ensure that these citizens have no need to leave their homes.
The protection of the life and health of all citizens is an absolute priority of the Government of Serbia, which will continue to monitor the development of the COVID-19 situation and do its utmost to fully serve the citizens of Serbia at all times.
