When submitting insured and COD postal items, customers or persons authorized to submit postal items are required to show a personal ID with a photograph, in order to record the registration number of the personal document.
The postal operators are obliged to perform the aforementioned procedure in accordance with the Law on Postal Services (effective as of November 8, 2019) in order to determine the sender’s identity, and for the purpose of preventing money laundering and terrorist financing, as well as to prevent traffic of goods of unregistered entities, which also provides a higher level of protection for all participants in postal traffic. During the implementation of this procedure, PE Post of Serbia is obliged to handle the sender’s data in the manner prescribed by the law governing the confidentiality of the data.
