New Year brought the first winners of “A Letter to Santa Claus” contest
Children up to the age of twelve from all over Serbia diligently thought, wrote, dreamed and draw this winter! From December 1, 2021 until January 7, 2022 close to 3,000 children’s letters arrived to the address of Santa Claus, as part of Post’s contest.
The commission did not have an easy task. After carefully reviewing all the works, the winner was chosen to be Marija Eraković (12), a sixth grade student at the Elementary School "Mića Stanojlović" from Koceljeva, for the long verse poem “My best Christmas”.
Second place was won by Tijana and Tara Malivuk (6) from Sremski Karlovci, for their art work. The third prize went to Pavle Marković (7) from Belgrade, for short prose text “A Letter to Santa Claus”. The fourth and fifth prize in single competition were won with their art work by Ema Leški (10) from Gospođinci, and Una Gligorijević (9) from Vlasotinci.
The students of the elementary school "Momčilo Popović Ozren" from Paraćin were declared the best in the group competition, winning first place with team art work. Other awards also went to works of art: the second place was won by the kindergarten "Slavujak", Preschool "Boško Buha", from Belgrade; the third place to students of the elementary school "Crnjanski" from Jagodina; the fourth and fifth prizes went to the third grade of the elementary school "Boško Palkovljević Pinki" from Stara Pazova, and to the educational group from the kindergarten "Palčica" from Novi Sad.
In an extremely strong competition of works of various techniques and formats, the winners won five valuable awards in both individual and group competition: electric scooter, two tablets and two mobile phones were awarded in individual competition, and five TVs were collective awards for the most successful educational groups.
The commission consisted of celebrated writers for children - Mirjana Bulatović, Nevena Vitošević Ćeklić and Branko Stevanović, and world-famous stock photographers, brothers Bojan and Ivan Zamurović.
The award ceremony with an exhibition of winning works is postponed due to the current epidemiological situation and will be organized later.
