New vehicles in the Postal Fleet

The Post of Serbia realised the first procurement of vehicles through operational leasing and contracted the delivery of 209 new vehicles intended for transport and delivery of postal items. The first 28 trucks weighing 3-3.5 t, 17 Fiat Ducato Van 2.3 MJ, and 11 Fiat Ducato Maxi 2.3 MJ were delivered.

On this occasion, Zoran Djordjević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia held a meeting of the Enterprise at the Regional Postal and Logistics Centre in Belgrade, and talked with the executive directors and directors of Functions about the implementation of activities on further reconstruction of the postal network in January, as well as plans to start the upcoming business year on capacity building in technology vehicles and new services that support e-commerce. The Collegium was also attended by representatives of trade unions operating in the Enterprise.

"Continuous improvement of logistics capacities is a strategic commitment of the Post of Serbia." In order to improve transport, regular and specialised delivery of postal items, especially due to the growing e-commerce and increase in the number of e-postal items, we have begun a comprehensive renewal of the Postal Fleet. By introducing new types of vehicles, renewing and further strengthening the largest and most widespread national distribution network, we ensure our leading position. The new technological vehicles will increase the safety of postal items in transport, the reliability and quality of postal service, as well as customer satisfaction, while providing better working conditions for employees. The renewal of the Postal Fleet and the delivery of new vehicles, mopeds and bicycles will continue in January, and a complete replacement of the fleet is planned by 2023," said Zoran Djordjević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.

The new vehicles increase the availability of the postal network, thus improving the quality of service while reducing exhaust emissions as all vehicles meet Euro 6 standards, and will increase the number of services provided by the Post, in line with growing market demands.
