Ambassador Chen Bo with Zoran Đorđević
H.E. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Belgrade, Chen Bo, and Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, met today to discuss direct connection and start of negotiations between public postal operators of Serbia and China, with the aim of ensuring uninterrupted and stable delivery of postal items generated by e-commerce on the platforms of Chinese sellers by buyers from Serbia.
The development of e-commerce, the increase in the number of items in postal flows after the easing of global pandemic measures, as well as the increased demands of customers that the purchased goods be delivered to them as soon as possible, were the topics of today's meeting to which it is necessary for the Post of Serbia and the Post of China to respond jointly by establishing direct cooperation, agreed Ambassador Bo and Director Đorđević.
"Ensuring stable delivery of postal items from international traffic, facilitating transport routes and fulfilling customer requirements for the shortest possible delivery times for postal items from international traffic and from China, is the common task of our tightly connected and friendly countries, whose commercial exchange is growing. New ways and new delivery routes, as well as the increase in logistics capacities for receiving goods generated by e-commerce, are modern needs that we will adequately respond to with the help of the Post of China, one of the world leaders in transport, logistics and postal traffic. Also, for the realization of these goals, we plan new investments and the purchase of most modern equipment", said Zoran Đorđević.
As previously announced, it is expected that with the introduction of a direct flight to Beijing, problems in the flow of e-commerce will be eliminated, and the transfer of postal items will be significantly cheaper and faster.
