Stamp Voting 140 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and US
This year, Serbia and the United States of America are celebrating a great jubilee - 140 years since the establishment of official diplomatic relations between the two countries. The anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations is being marked in the desire to improve mutual relations even more. Today, Serbia and the United States share many things, similar national symbols, successful people who created in both countries and many common values and interests.
On the occasion of the great jubilee, PE Post of Serbia, in cooperation with the US Embassy in Belgrade, will issue two commemorative postage stamps in the form of a block on October 15, 2021. In order for the motifs of this important issue of commemorative stamps to depict as much as possible the values, symbols and people that the Serbian public sees as the strongest link between Serbia and the USA, PE Post of Serbia, the US Embassy in Belgrade and Rakuten Viber are organizing voting via the Viber application for the best motif suggestion for a commemorative postage stamp to mark 140 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the US.
More than one million and one hundred thousand members of the “Viber Serbia” community will have the opportunity to vote in a special poll for one of the five proposals made by professional authors of postage stamps of the PE Post of Serbia. Voting for members of the “Viber Serbia” community will be open from Friday, July 2, starting at 10 am, on the following link: http://skr.rs/zsrw, and the winner will be announced on Monday, July 5.
The winning solution that will find its place on the postage stamp celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and the USA will be announced on Monday, July 5 after 10 am, also in the “Viber of Serbia” community.
During the reception on the occasion of the US Independence Day on July 4, which is being organized at the residence of the US Ambassador in Belgrade on July 2, the guests will have the opportunity to see exhibited works of art by the authors of postage stamps of PE Post of Serbia and proposals for the appearance of the issue made on the basis of these works of art, as well as to vote for the best proposal. This is the first time that the PE Post of Serbia, in cooperation with a diplomatic mission in Belgrade and the company Rakuten Viber, is organizing such promotional voting. Mass voting, provided by the Viber application, is an additional contribution to building better relations between Serbia and the United States, and citizen participation will contribute to the choice of a suitable postage stamp, which is the most relevant indicator of the values that unite Serbia and the United States today.
