Saker Falkon Stamp In the Best Stamp European Contest

Again this year, the Post of Serbia shall take part in the contest for the best stamp EUROPE 2021 issue, on the theme of the Endangered National Wildlife, together with the Postal Operators from the entire Europe. At this prestigious contest, the Post of Serbia takes part with the stamp – Saker Falkon (Falco cherrug) with nominal value of 30 RSD, the issue to be released on 12 May. Each year in its programme, the Post of Serbia has a special issue of the commemorative postal stamps “Europe”, which is prepared under the patronage of the Association of the Public Postal Operators – PostEurop, that each year assigns a theme of the issue and implements the competition for the best stamp. Since 2007 when the online voting was introduced, the winner is announced not only by the expert jury estimates, but also by the votes of the audience.

The Post of Serbia commemorative issue – EUROPE Endangered national wildlife, with two stamps in panes of eight stamps with vignette in the middle, one first day commemorative envelope with commemorative cachet on – will be released on 12 May, with motifs of stictly protected species in our country – Saker Falcon (Falco cherrug) and Shore Lark (Eremophila alpestris). Expert cooperation was provided by Dr Marko Raković, from the Natural History Museum in Belgrade, while the artistic design of the issue is a work of Marija Vlahović, MA, creator of the Post of Serbia stamps.
