Information on the latest attempt to misuse the Post of Serbia name
Due to cyclical attempts at fraud in the form of fake SMS messages allegedly coming from the Post of Serbia, we draw the attention of citizens and customers to a new fraudulent campaign using fake SMS messages with a notification about a parcel or an unsuccessful delivery attempt.
This is a type of phishing attack, in order to induce citizens to share personal data and payment card information and account numbers, where they are required to visit a link to a page that is not owned by the Post of Serbia and enter personal data or a link that requests payment via payment cards.
The messages are created with the intention of appearing to be sent by the Post of Serbia, and the text of the message is such that it creates a sense of urgency with the aim of inducing the recipient of the message to react quickly and recklessly.
Customers are advised not to open messages of this type and not to visit the links listed in them, as these links lead to fake pages that are not owned by the Post of Serbia, and which may resemble its official page. Citizens are advised to be cautious, and to first pay attention to the phone number from which the message is received, which is most often from abroad.
We would like to remind you again that the Post of Serbia never communicates with its customers in this way and that if they receive messages of similar content, they should not act as requested. We also remind you that the Post of Serbia does not provide payment services for parcel delivery via payment cards on its website, and communicates with customers via SMS or Viber messages exclusively for the purpose of announcing the arrival of postal items and exclusively through its verified account, and that the only legitimate link to the Post of Serbia is: posta.rs.
