Pošta Srbije modernizes its vehicle fleet — allocation of new vans in Čačak

Pošta Srbije continues to modernize its logistics infrastructure and systems, improving the efficiency and quality of services for citizens and businesses across the country. Today, the directors of the working units were handed the keys to new Peugeot Boxer XFT435L4H2 commercial vehicles, with a cargo volume of 15 m³, which will be used to transport postal items on the second transport level routes.

In the first phase, 35 vehicles were allocated to 11 working units, while a total of 518 new vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of March. Of this number, more than 300 will be electric and 180 will be petrol-powered, which will contribute to reducing harmful gas emissions and significantly modernizing the fleet.

The Acting Director of Pošta Srbije, Zoran Anđelković, spoke about the importance of the investment and plans for further development:

"This is an important day for Pošta Srbije. We are starting the renewal of the fleet that will enable faster and more efficient delivery and support the growth of e-commerce that we are experiencing. We want postal items to reach customers without any delays. Today, we have allocated 35 vans to 11 working units, and by the end of March, a total of 518 vehicles will arrive, of which almost 320 will be electric. In this way, we are renewing the fleet of Pošta Srbije and Post Express and further improving the delivery of all types of postal items."

The new vehicles will enable faster and more reliable parcel delivery, especially in the context of the constant growth of e-commerce, as well as better connectivity of the logistics network and customers across the country. Pošta Srbije is already recording an annual growth of over 20 percent in eDelivery, with a market share of around 30 percent in competition with several courier services.

Anđelković recalled that in the previous period, the priority was the development of logistics centres, emphasizing that Pošta Srbije today has the most modern centres in Southeast Europe, equipped with robotic systems for the sorting of postal items. The digitalization of key processes has been completed, and in the next phase, a wider application of artificial intelligence is planned, which will further accelerate the processing and distribution of postal items.

"The modernization of logistics centres, robotization and the application of artificial intelligence enable the sorting of more than 30,000 parcels per hour and have the potential to process half a million postal items per day, which allows us to make deliveries to customers faster and more efficiently," said Anđelković.

The vehicles are allocated to working units across the country, in accordance with the operational needs of the logistics system.

The directors of the working units accepted the vehicles and handed over the keys to the drivers and delivery personnel, who will start using them in the field as of tomorrow. It is expected that the new vehicles will significantly speed up deliveries in the coming period, when the number of postal items traditionally increases.

Pošta Srbije continues to modernize its operations through the development of electronic services, the introduction of eDelivery via eMailbox, and the improvement of customer support through the application of artificial intelligence, with the aim of providing citizens and businesses with fast, reliable, and modern service in line with contemporary needs.
