Post of Serbia launches fifth robotic system in Kraljevo
Kraljevo – October 6, 2025. In the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović, Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Assoc. Prof. Mihailo Jovanović PhD, Mayor of Kraljevo Predrag Terzić, PhD and the management of the PE Post of Serbia, the renovated and modernized Regional Postal and Logistics Centre (RPLC) was officially launched in Kraljevo.
RPLC Kraljevo is the fifth centre in Serbia to introduce a robotic system for automatic sorting of postal items, after Niš, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Belgrade. The new system with 42 robots, with a capacity of 2,500 postal items per hour, ensures faster, more reliable and more precise processing, shorter delivery times and better working conditions for employees.
Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia, Zoran Anđelković, pointed out that the new system represents a significant step towards faster and more reliable processing of postal items, and that it contributes to better working conditions of employees and the reduction of routine, manual tasks.
"The strategic goal of the Post of Serbia was to equip all large logistics centres with robots and for new technologies and artificial intelligence to become an integral part of business processes. Today is the day when one facility begins to live and by putting this centre into operation, we are completing the robotization process in all large centres", emphasized Anđelković.
He added that today is particularly important because, in addition to the launch of the new system in Kraljevo, parcel machines of the Post of Serbia are also being launched at 168 petrol stations of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia, which allows citizens to collect their parcels at locations accessible 24 hours a day.
"By the end of the year, another big step awaits us, the completion of the bid for eDeliveries, which will further unburden mailpersons as of January 1", he said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarović emphasized that the launch of the robotic system represents a big step forward for Serbia:
"With 42 robots that will enable faster, more efficient and more reliable delivery, Serbia is gaining a logistics system according to the highest European and global standards. Fast logistics and reliable transport are the foundations of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, farmers, start-ups, but also large companies. Those who create, produce and export will now be able to market their products with greater security and ease, not only in Serbia, but also beyond its borders. This is a strong signal that we believe in the potential of Kraljevo and its citizens and that it is here that we are building the future of a modern, innovative Serbia."
Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina recalled the long tradition of the Post of Serbia:
"Back in 1840, when the first post office was opened in Belgrade, a 185-year journey began. The Post of Serbia plays an extremely important role for both citizens and the economy. Therefore, it is our duty, as the relevant ministry and the Government, to always stand by the Post, as a reliable support for its management and employees."
The Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, Assoc. Prof. Mihailo Jovanović, PhD assessed that today's event is crucial for the Post of Serbia, as it completes the process of automation and robotization in all five processing centres. He added that the Post of Serbia is making a major leap forward in the field of eCommerce and the development of logistics as a support for the digital economy.
The Mayor of Kraljevo, Predrag Terzić, PhD emphasized that this is a great and significant day for the city:
"The Post of Serbia remains the most responsible enterprise in the country. Its mailpersons reach even the most remote places, some of which up to 80 kilometres away from Kraljevo. In these areas, the mailperson is often the only guest who comes to the house, a person who is trusted and on whom everyday life depends."
In front of the Regional Working Unit "Kraljevo-Čačak", the guests were welcomed by Director Siniša Luković, who expressed his satisfaction with the modern and functional space, covering an area of 2.5 hectares. He emphasized that the centre is now fully equipped for automated sorting of postal items and the development of logistics services in accordance with the needs of the three districts covered by the Working Unit.
In the first nine months of 2025 alone, more than 900,000 postal items were processed in this centre, making RPLC Kraljevo one of the largest centres in the system of the Post of Serbia, right behind Belgrade, Niš, and Novi Sad.
Owing to its geographical location, developed infrastructure and growing population in the region, as well as the potential for further modernization, RPLC Kraljevo represents one of the most strategically important logistics hubs in the country.
Robotization is a key pillar of the digital transformation of the logistics network, supporting the growth of eCommerce and providing modern services to customers in every part of Serbia.
With this project, the Post of Serbia confirms its vision to be a modern, digitally integrated institution, providing citizens and businesses with services according to the highest standards.
