Republic of Serbia’s Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka on a new postage stamp
The Post of Serbia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal and Foreign Trade, the company "EXPO 2027" LLC and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, has published a commemorative issue of postage stamps dedicated to Serbia's participation in the World Exhibition EXPO 2025, which is being held in the Japanese city of Osaka.
The new postage stamp also represents an exclusive opportunity to announce the largest event of this type in the Republic of Serbia, the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, which will be attended by more than 120 countries from all over the world.
The commemorative postage stamp depicts the Pavilion of the Republic of Serbia at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, designed according to the idea of a "floating forest" with a living facade and a recycling system, as a symbol of sustainable architecture imbued with cultural content, combined with a technological vision. Inspired by Belgrade's Great War Island, which is a protected natural asset, the National Pavilion of the Republic of Serbia is unique in Osaka due to its living, green facade.
During the design and construction, special attention was paid to sustainability - 95 percent of the materials from which the Pavilion is built are recyclable, and 80 percent are reusable. Its dynamic design is a kind of bridge that connects the theme of the World Exhibition EXPO 2025 Osaka - "Society 5.0", with the theme "Play for Humanity - Sport and Music for All" of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
The most influential Japanese and world portals have ranked the Pavilion of the Republic of Serbia among the most impressive, as it offers visitors the opportunity to discover the importance of play in all aspects of life through music, dance, sports, science and technology.
Details of the Pavilion's attractive appearance are also shown on the commemorative envelope of the "EXPO 2025 Osaka Kansai" issue. Dragan Kujundžić is the author of the photographs that inspired the artistic design of the commemorative postage stamp issue, while the artistic realization is by Nadežda Skočajić, the creator of the stamps for the Post of Serbia.
