Post of Serbia and partners signed contract on ePrescription service

Today, at the premises of the PE Post of Serbia, an Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation was signed between the Post of Serbia and the companies Nites LLC and Medit LLC, establishing the ePrescription service in private healthcare institutions, in the same way as in the public system. This project represents a significant step in the digitalization of the healthcare system and its implementation is expected as of January 1, 2026.

The Agreement was ceremoniously signed by Zoran Anđelković, Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia, Miloš Živanović, Director of the company Nites LLC, and Nikola Rančić, representative of the company Medit LLC.

ePrescription is a modern software solution that enables the integration of private healthcare practices with the existing healthcare information system in Serbia. In this way, doctors in private healthcare will issue electronic prescriptions instead of paper ones, thereby simplifying the procedure for patients, improving control of medication dispensing and increasing the safety of therapy.

The Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Zlatibor Lončar, emphasized:

"The day has come to connect the private and public healthcare systems. One of the biggest problems is the overuse of medicines, especially antibiotics, which leads to antibiotic resistance. Thanks to ePrescription, there will be a single database, the patient will know which medicine they have been prescribed, and the doctor in private and public practice will also have access to it. The system will also contain warning mechanisms to avoid dangerous combinations of medicines. It is especially important that there will be no additional costs for the citizens, as the project is financed by the Post of Serbia from its own profits."

Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia, Zoran Anđelković, pointed out:

"I am proud that the Post of Serbia is implementing a project that combines digitalization, healthcare and a better quality of life for citizens. ePrescription will make the work of healthcare workers easier, and provide patients with safer and more accessible healthcare. This is a project that we have been preparing for about a year, with the support of the relevant institutions, and it is an example of how state-owned enterprises can contribute to the digital transformation of Serbia."

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the management of the Post of Serbia and partner companies, as well as numerous guests from the fields of healthcare and information technologies.
