Surcharge postage stamp “ROOF 2025” available for sale from April 7 to 20

Today, the PTT Museum in Belgrade hosted a promotion for the distribution of the surcharge postage stamp "ROOF 2025", priced at 10 dinars, which is being printed in a circulation of 1,500,000 copies this year and will be available for sale from April 7 to 20, 2025. The aim of this campaign is to help provide housing for the most vulnerable refugee families and internally displaced persons through the purchase of rural households.

The Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia, Nataša Stanisavljević, pointed out that this humanitarian action has been implemented since 2010 and that so far, with the funds raised through the sale of surcharge postage stamps, 129 rural households have been purchased, thus providing a home for the same number of vulnerable families. She called on all those interested to help the ones who need it most by purchasing the surcharge postage stamp "ROOF 2025".

“Providing housing for the most vulnerable families is one of the most important goals of the Commissariat. This project represents not only a housing solution, but also a chance for a new beginning and a dignified life for families who were forced to leave their homes. Human solidarity and support for these efforts will enable the building of a better future for the most vulnerable and is a step towards a lasting solution to the issue of refugees and internally displaced persons. The funds raised from the sale of surcharge postage stamps are planned for the purchase of up to seven rural households to accommodate the most vulnerable refugee families and internally displaced persons," said Commissioner Stanisavljević.

The Executive Director of the Post of Serbia, Vladimir Dimitrijević, PhD welcomed the guests on behalf of the Acting Director of the Enterprise, Zoran Anđelković. Dimitrijević emphasized that the Post of Serbia strongly supports this humanitarian action of the Government of Serbia and the Commissariat.

"I would like to emphasize that the Post of Serbia, as well as all participants in this process, are strongly connected and motivated by humanitarianism and solidarity with the most vulnerable, which are the foundation and purpose of this action", said Dimitrijević. He expressed gratitude to all citizens who have contributed since 2010 and invited citizens to participate this time as well, by sending a postal item in domestic postal traffic from April 7 to 20 and contribute to the success of the humanitarian action "ROOF 2025".

The attendees were also addressed by Jelica Mavrak, one of the programme beneficiaries, who thanked the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, the Republic of Serbia, the municipality of Bačka Topola, and the Post of Serbia, for enabling her to solve one of the most important life issues - for her family to get a new home and a safer future.

Commissioner Stanisavljević and Director Dimitrijević, together with the beneficiary families Maletić and Mavrak, visited the special collection of the PTT Museum - the Legacy of Zoran Marković after the promotion.
