Postmen across Serbia marked June 7 – Day of the Post of Serbia

The Post of Serbia marked its Day and 179 years since the establishment of public postal traffic in Serbia at a special ceremony held in the premises of the Enterprise in Belgrade.

Reflecting on the long tradition and leadership position of the Post, Mira Petrović, Acting Director of the PE Post of Serbia, pointed out that the Post has, since the previous gathering on the same occasion, recorded new achievements and earned a business profit at the end of last year, as well as new growth in the first quarter of this year. "We are particularly pleased with the growth in the Post Express segment, where 5 millionth postal item received this year was recently registered, which is 700,000 more than in the same period last year. The technological fleet of the Post was renewed with 257 delivery vehicles, which affirmed the reputation of the most widespread national transport and logistics network”, Petrović pointed out.

Mira Petrović presented the plaque to the best postal worker in 2018 - Saša Mihajlović, a delivery courier from Jagodina, who expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and for receiving this important acknowledgment. "This is a big thing, the biggest one I've experienced in these 27 years of working in the Post. I will try to justify the award", Mihajlović said.

In working units throughout Serbia, 1,358 employees received plaques and monetary jubilee awards for contributing to the results of the Enterprise.

Traditionally for the Day of the Post, a thematic exhibition was opened and this year, within the framework of the "Artistic Designs for Postage Stamps from 1930 to 1990" exhibition, postage stamp designs by top visual artists were presented. The drawings of famous artists such as: Zlamalik, Grujić, Kun, Ćirić, Kažić, Milenković and others, whose sketches are kept in the rich treasury of the Museum, will be available to the public until September 6 at the PTT Museum.

Also, customers were presented with a new corporate website of the Enterprise, characterized by improved design, dynamics and functionality, with new tools and applications for quick and easy tracking of postal items, price calculations and services and post offices locating. New services for citizens were announced - money transfer via MoneyGram remittances and the service of delivery of driver’s licences at the home address.
