Warning about new fraud attempts via fake SMS messages

In the latest campaign and attempt to misuse the name of the Post of Serbia, citizens are suggested via fake and fraudulent SMS messages that their postal item could not be delivered because customs duties were not paid. In another fraudulent campaign, an incorrect address is requested to be updated in order for the parcel to be delivered. In both cases, the SMS messages contain links to fraudulent websites that are not owned by the PE Post of Serbia.

We would like to draw the attention of citizens and customers to the fact that PE Post of Serbia never communicates with customers in this way and never requires them to use this method of payment for the delivery of any type of postal item. We would like to remind you that PE Post of Serbia does not provide payment services for parcel delivery via payment cards on its website and communicates with customer via SMS or Viber messages solely for the purpose of announcing the arrival of postal items and exclusively through its verified account. The only legitimate link to PE Post of Serbia is: posta.rs.

In connection with cyclical fraud attempts in the form of fake SMS messages and fraudulent e-mails or through fake messages via social networks and communication platforms, allegedly coming from the Post of Serbia, we warn customers not to act as requested, not to open links in received messages and not to enter their data.

The Online Security page on the corporate website of the Post of Serbia at the link https://www.posta.rs/eng/online-bezbednost/tipicne-onlajn-prevare.aspx is available for any doubts, as is the Contact Centre at the telephone numbers 0700 100 300 and 011 3607 788, available on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 3 pm.

The Post of Serbia reported all registered fraud attempts to the National CERT.
