Profitable Post
In the period from January to September, total revenues reached 18.7 billion dinars, while total expenditures were 16.5 billion, and the Post of Serbia realized a net profit of 1.7 billion dinars.
The Supervisory Board of the Post of Serbia adopted at today's meeting information on the operations of this public enterprise in the first nine months of 2017, as well as a report on the level of implementation of the Business Programme.
In the period from January to September, total revenues reached 18.7 billion dinars, while total expenditures were 16.5 billion, and the Post of Serbia realized a net profit of 1.7 billion dinars.
The enterprise planned to have a business profit of 308 million dinars in the first nine months, and the amount of 2.2 billion dinars was realized.
Operating revenues are higher than planned and at the end of the third quarter they amount to RSD 18.1 billion. More than half of this amount was provided by the commercial service, with continued growth in revenue from parcel, express and logistics services, which in 2017 amounts to over 12 percent. With its Post-Express service, Post has been holding the leading position for 15 years in the market that is exposed to the competition the most, since it has more than 50 registered courier services.
With good cost management and rationalization at all levels, business costs are reduced to a minimum, and 10.3 percent of them are below planned.
In the observed period, Post has allocated 845.9 million dinars for investments, which is about 12 percent more than last year, and the most is invested in the procurement of new technological transport means that are the basis of postal activities.
