Postage Stamps Dedicated to Easter

The commemorative philatelic issue contains two postage stamps with nominal value of 23 dinars and 74 dinars, the First Day cover (FDC) and the commemorative seal.

On 21 February the Post of Serbia will issue postage stamps under the title ’Easter’, honouring the holiday of Christ’s Resurrection, one of the greatest Christian holidays.

For Christians, Easter is the day of eternal joy, the day when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, conquered death. By the act of Resurrection Jesus Christ proved His divine powers and opened the door to eternal life, joy and happiness. The date of the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection is not fixed. The Easter week determines the day of the annual celebration of Christ’s Resurrection, and it is calculated on the basis of the date of the full Moon which preceded Christ’s Resurrection in 30 B.C.

The commemorative philatelic issue contains two postage stamps with nominal values of 23 dinars and 74 dinars, the First Day cover (FDC) and the commemorative seal. The stamps are printed in the circulation of 215,000 and 100,000 copies.
