Raid and theft of Post’s property in Kosovska Mitrovica

The so-called "Kosovo police" forcibly broke into the Serbian Post Office in Kosovska Mitrovica today and stole inventory and documentation owned by the Post of Serbia.

This latest move by the Priština authorities is a continuation of the abuse of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija by Kurti’s regime, in the form of pressure, intimidation and violence against Serbs in the province, threatening individuals and institutions, and their rights to property, life and work in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, thus grossly violating all agreements signed in the past.

The only thing that matters to Kurti's regime is that every day and with every move it puts pressure on the Serbian people to leave Kosovo and Metohija. The protectors of Kurti's regime remain silent about all this, as do, unfortunately, international postal institutions, such as the Universal Postal Union and PostEurop, which we have previously informed about everything when closing post offices.

We would like to emphasize that the Post of Serbia has had a lease agreement for the office space in Kosovska Mitrovica for 25 years and has not yet signed a termination agreement with the Trepča Sever Company. The Post of Serbia has not started the eviction of the inventory from this Post Office, which was temporarily closed in a violent action by the so-called “Kosovo police” in early August. This has not been done despite the eviction order issued by the so-called “Kosovo police” seven days ago, as the lease agreement is still in force and the court proceedings are ongoing.

"We will not give up and will continue to work and help our people in Kosovo and Metohija and, as in previous months, ensure that they can receive letters, salaries and pensions," said Zoran Anđelković, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.
