Ministry presented valuable international philately specimens to PTT museum

The Ministry of Information and Telecommunications and PE Post of Serbia concluded an agreement whereby the PTT Museum is entrusted with the safekeeping, professional processing and exhibiting of unique albums of international philately from the fund of protocol gifts of the Ministry. The agreement was signed and handover performed by the Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Mr. Zoran Anđelković and the Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mr. Dejan Ristić.

Minister Mr. Ristić emphasized that these are unique issues of commemorative postage stamps received as protocol gifts from foreign ministers during their visits to the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, such as an album made of silk from the People's Republic of China, an album of French postage stamps published on the occasion of the XXIV Congress of the Universal Postal Union in 2008, an album of Pakistani philately, and five issues of the album of commemorative postage stamps from Belgium on a cardboard base.

Minister Mr. Ristić added that, in addition to the cooperation between the Ministry and PE Post of Serbia in the areas of improvement of business operations and services intended for citizens, the economy and state institutions, he expects that this agreement will result in many more new ones that will contribute to enriching the collections and funds of the PTT Museum.

Director Mr. Zoran Anđelković thanked for the gift and the initiative of the line ministry, which supports the development of a valuable museum collection, as well as the development of philately in our country. The Director emphasized that this made possible exclusive content for philatelists, visitors and the general public. He added that such initiatives are of great importance for the future development of the PTT Museum, which has been preserving valuable national cultural heritage for more than 100 years, while plans for further development and promotion of the Museum are currently being prepared.

As a sign of gratitude, Director Anđelković presented a gift to Minister Ristić in the form of an album of the latest commemorative postage stamps published by PE Post of Serbia.
