The Day of the Post of Serbia – 7 June, was marked at the Regional Postal and Logistics Centre in Zemun with the presentation of 95 new electric delivery vehicles for Post-Express delivery of postal items throughout Serbia. In the presence of senior representatives of the Post of Srpska, Minister of Information and Telecommunications of Serbia Dejan Ristić and Acting Director of the Post of Serbia Zoran Anđelković handed over the keys to the directors of the work units and toured the new fleet.

On the occasion of the All-Serbian Assembly, talks between the management of the Post of Serbia and the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications Milica Ćatić, with the Executive Director of the Post of Srpska Milenko Vučeta, deputy director Snježana Martić and director of the work unit in Bijeljina Rado Bjelica, were held on the topics of improving cooperation, analysis of existing memorandums on cooperation, expanding the scope of mutual support and further practical implementation of the eight agreements concluded since 2012.

Director Anđelković pointed out the unchanged importance of the Post in the modern world. He said that with the application of the latest achievements in its activity, following digitization and contributing to that process, the Post remains one of the main mediators in the development of communications and the initiator of technical and technological development, and that in the next year he expects the robotization of the main postal centre in Zemun.

Anđelković highlighted the socially responsible orientation of the Post of Serbia towards the complete electrification of its large business and logistics fleet and the provision of its own filling stations by installing solar panels, which already exist in the postal centre in Kragujevac. He said that 661.8 million dinars were paid for the new electric vehicles, while the state subsidy amounted to 55.6 million dinars. Investments in sustainable development, as he pointed out, will contribute to the preservation of the environment, will bring better quality of service to users, and enable the Post to develop business, increase business income, economic savings, improve working conditions and work resources.

New electric vehicles will be used immediately with specialized reception and delivery of postal items in Belgrade and Niš and more than 20 cities throughout Serbia. Subotica and Kragujevac, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Pančevo and Sremska Mitrovica received the first electric vehicles. They are also introduced for delivery in Smederevo, Šabac, Kraljevo, Požarevac, Jagodina, Kruševac, Valjevo, Užice, Čačak, Vranje and Leskovac, and will be found on the streets of Kikinda, Zaječar, Bor, Prokuplje and Pirot.
