Exclusive commemorative postage stamps "Friends who come from afar"
At the promotion of the cultural exchange between Serbia and China under the title "What mountains and rivers separate, friendship unites", which was held in the "Metropol Palace" hotel by the China Media Group in cooperation with Radio and Television of Serbia, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, and the President of the China Media Group, Shen Haixiong, ceremonially presented to the public an exclusive issue of commemorative postage stamps "Friends who come from afar".
That China and Serbia are countries with a long history and a unique culture is the symbolic message of the creators of the issue, embodied in the choice of motifs of Hemudu culture and Vinča culture, which is strongly linked by a characteristic Dialogue deep in history. Motifs of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway, as one of the symbols of cooperation within the "Belt and Road" initiative, and the building of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Belgrade, the centre of Serbian-Chinese cultural exchange, were also used on commemorative postage stamps.
By issuing commemorative postage stamps in honour of the true friendship and strong partnership between Serbia and China, which will be further strengthened during the return visit of the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, to the Republic of Serbia, the Post of Serbia contributes to the promotion of Serbian-Chinese friendship of steel and symbolically supports future development in cultural exchange and all other segments of relations between Serbia and China.
The China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Cultural Centre in Belgrade provided professional cooperation in the realization of the issue, which consists of three commemorative postage stamps, printed in sheets of 15 stamps with 10 vignettes, a first-day cover and a commemorative seal. The artistic realization of the issue is the work of the creators of stamps for the Post of Serbia, Miroslav Nikolić and Nadežda Skočajić.
