Promotion of the stamp issue "Bata Živojinović – the film art giant"
In honor of our great actor Bata Živojinović, for the first time in the history of Serbian philately, PE Post of Serbia published a commemorative postage stamp on December 31, at the turn of two years, on the occasion of three jubilees related to the artistic work of Bata Živojinović.
On this occasion, a New Year's promotion was held in the PTT Museum, where the Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, and the granddaughter of the famous artist, Dina Živojinović, spoke about the unique issue of postage stamps and the personality and work of the great actor Bata Živojinović.
"By issuing commemorative postage stamps, we want to honor Bata Živojinović and express great respect for his exceptional contribution to art, culture, his passion for acting and the rich artistic oeuvre he left behind. Bata's films and series are imprinted in the hearts of many generations, and this stamp is a symbol of our gratitude and deep respect for one of our greatest artists. In 2023, 50 years of the film Sutjeska and 90 years since the birth of the famous actor were marked, and in 2024 we will celebrate 55 years of the film The Bridge. In this way, Bata Živojinović becomes the only person in our philately who united three jubilees on one postage stamp," said the Director of the Post of Serbia.
"I thank you, on behalf of the Živojinović family, for the way in which the Post of Serbia preserves the memory of our Bata. In a time when art and communication are at the center of digitalization, we cannot deny the power of handwriting, nor the gifts that artists use to transfer their emotions to paper. Bata will live as long as we remember and mention him. Thank you for ending the year 2023 in the spirit of unity and for sharing common values," said Dina Živojinović, granddaughter of Bata Živojinović, on behalf of the family of our great actor.
The issue "Bata Živojinović – the film art giant" was published in a circulation of 25,000 and contains one commemorative stamp in the form of a sheet of 8 stamps, a first day cover and a seal. The artistic realization is the work of Miroslav Nikolić, the creator of stamps for the Post of Serbia.
