Postage stamp commemorating diplomatic jubilee of Serbia and Slovakia

The philatelic project of the Post of Serbia and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Belgrade, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Slovakia, was presented by H.E. Fedor Rosocha, Ambassador of Slovakia in Serbia, and Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.

Ambassador Rosocha warmly thanked the Post of Serbia and Director Zoran Đorđević for the special issue of the stamp, published in the year when the Slovak Republic celebrates a significant jubilee - 30 years of independence and 30 years of diplomatic relations between Slovakia and Serbia.

"For the past 30 years in the field of international cooperation, we have established many significant partnerships, carried out important strategic projects, and laid strong foundations for the further improvement of friendship and respect between our two peoples," said Ambassador Rosocha, emphasizing the role of the Slovak national minority in Serbia for its contribution to understanding between the Serbian and Slovak people.

He announced the continuation of cooperation with the Post of Serbia in May of the following year, with the publication of another special postage stamp dedicated to the painter from Kovačica, Martin Jonas, who greatly contributed to the spread of the popularity of the naive painting of Vojvodina's Slovaks on all continents.

"We prepared the philatelic issue in honour of the diplomatic jubilee, mutual support and closeness of two peoples that are similar in many ways and closely connected by strong ties and mutual understanding. We remain committed to the development of our traditionally good relations, coexistence and friendship with the Slovak people, the development of cooperation in all areas and the achievement of common goals, to which this philatelic issue will bear witness", said Zoran Đorđević.

Đorđević presented Ambassador Rosocha with a significant philatelic commemorative sheet of the issue with a serial number 30, in a commemorative album together with commemorative postage stamps issued by the Post of Serbia in the previous period.

On the philatelic issue "30 years of diplomatic relations between Serbia and Slovakia”, the motifs are the Danube River, the Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel in Belgrade and the Cathedral of St. Martin in Bratislava. The issue also includes a sheet of eight, a first day cover (FDC) and a commemorative seal. The issue was published in professional cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Serbia, while the artistic realization of the issue is the work of Miroslav Nikolić and Nadežda Skočajić, creators of stamps for the Post of Serbia.
