Post met demands; Suspension is expected to end as work returns to normal
Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia Zoran Đorđević announced at a press conference that the Enterprise will fulfill all the demands of the workers during the suspension of work, and that it is expected that the Enterprise’s work will return to normal by Friday.
"I was thinking about how to respond to all the demands of the workers who are protesting today, within the framework in which we are moving. We have reached a solution and I can send a message that we have responded to all requests," he said.
The financial compensation that PE Post of Serbis will provide to the workers will be realized as follows: mailpersons and deliverers will receive 10 RSD per delivered registered postal item; deliverers will receive 10 RSD per collected Post Express item; counter workers, technicians in post offices and managers of post offices of the IV and V ranks can receive from 180 - 650 RSD per working day, depending on the percentage of productivity (from 60 to over 100 percent); technicians in post offices, logistics centers, motor vehicle drivers and controllers, as well as technicians 1 and 2, independent technicians in the Call Center and the Hybrid Post, standard working hours, shall receive 650 RSD per working day; post office technicians in RPLCs, motor vehicle drivers, controllers (shift work) will receive 1,200 RSD per day; managers of post offices from 0 to III rank, chief controllers, controllers and cashiers, if the monthly productivity of the unit in which they are engaged is greater than 90%, they will receive 500 RSD per working day, while all employees who want to work outside working hours will be able to earn 20 % of postage per mass for delivered parcels and Post Express items.
"All the stated amounts are NET amounts, and since one of the demands of the workers was the realization of the right to compensation in November and December 2023, this will not be conditioned by the signing of the contract with Post PRO d.o.o.," stated Đorđević and added that the anticipated increases do not mean that there will be no wage increase planned for January.
"On November 1, we had a meeting with the three largest unions and we want to go before the Government. Profits have been paid, employment has been agreed with the Network Function, and the salary increase will be between 10-20 percent. We are opening up the possibility that people can earn much more with their work and know exactly how much they will get for the additional work," Đorđević announced.
He added that there will be no revanchism towards the workers who suspended their work, and that he expects their work to continue after the conference: "There will be no revanchism, discrimination against workers is punishable by law, I would never allow any revanchism to exist and I will cut it down in the root," he said and added that he expects the Enterprise’s work to be fully normalized by the end of the week at the latest.
"I expect the work suspension to end immediately, we have responded to all requests and they received everything they asked for." We are the Post of Serbia and we have to work in the interest of the state. It is not just parcels, there are calls for operations, laboratory findings, court letters, no one should be held hostage by suspensions. Let us work. Serbia and its citizens are above all of us", said Đorđević and pointed out that all decisions adopted today will be implemented retroactively, and that the salary increase applies to the period from November 1.
PE Post of Serbia ended the first three quarters of the current year with a net profit of 28.9 million EUR, and numerous projects are currently under development that can improve business operations.
"There are Parcel Machines, eWallet, eArchive and other services that accompany digitalization. The quality of our work has been recognized and we have started cooperation with DHL, one of the best mail services in the world, and we are also starting to build a logistics center with them," he said.
PE Post of Serbia also presented a new price list of services and different delivery methods.
The first method is to collect the postal item at the service post office, which will cost 200 RSD, delivery in parcel machines will cost 220 RSD, and delivery to a home address will cost 350 RSD.
An employee who delivers to an address will be rewarded if the delivery is to a home address or has at least two delivery attempts.
"I want to meet the workers’ demands with these measures as soon as possible, tomorrow I will visit Novi Sad where the biggest protests took place, we will talk to the workers. I will give a written order for the execution of all the above. It is important that clients who have contracts return to the Post of Serbia. 14,100 people and families depend on this. Human lives depend on our work and I hope that social responsibility will awaken," he concluded.
