100 years since proclamation of the Republic of Turkey on postage stamps

Today, in the PTT Museum in Belgrade, the Post of Serbia, together with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Serbia, officially presented a commemorative philatelic issue commemorating the centenary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey.

The stamp with the image of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, was presented by H.E. Hami Aksoy, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Serbia, and Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.

"By issuing this postage stamp, we mark an important moment in the history of the Republic of Turkey. Today is an opportunity to highlight our deep political and economic partnership and friendship, as well as our commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and relations between our two countries," Đorđević said.

The commemorative philatelic issue "100 years since the founding of the Republic of Turkey" contains one commemorative stamp in the form of a block, a first day cover and a commemorative seal. It was published in professional cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey. The artistic realization of the issue is the work of Boban Savić, MA, Academic Painter, creator of stamps for the Post of Serbia.
