On improving the EV ecosystem at the Electric Vehicles Days conference
At the third regional fair and conference Electric Vehicles Days 2023 – EV Days, in Novi Sad, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, participated in the panel "Shaping the future – a comprehensive approach to improving the perspective of the EV ecosystem".
In his presentation on the vision, efforts and activities of the Post of Serbia on the creation and implementation of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, Đorđević spoke about the progress made in the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicles in the Post's fleet.
"Smart services, increasing the share of delivery vehicles with electric and hybrid drive, electric vehicles, electric mopeds and electric bicycles, which we increasingly acquire and implement in delivery, are part of our extensive long-term strategy. We set out on that path despite all the challenges, starting from Novi Sad, given its tradition and reputation as a city that leads the way in environmentally responsible projects and campaigns", said Đorđević.
He added that the Post of Serbia recently presented the latest electric delivery vans for the specialized delivery of post-express items, packages, EMS items, cash express, telegrams and money orders. "Novi Sad will be the first in our country where our entire vehicle fleet will be replaced by electric vehicles. We are also planning the procurement of electric trucks, and the installation of solar panels at the regional postal centres in Novi Sad, Belgrade and Niš, which we have already installed in Kragujevac. Solar panels will provide us with energy from renewable sources to power plants, automatic sorting machines and our own electric vehicle charging stations", said Đorđević.
In addition to ecological vehicles, Đorđević concluded that the Post's priorities remain the development of new technologies, tools and digital services based on innovations and modern solutions, which continues with the improvement of processes and infrastructure, but also the reduction of costs of the core activity.
