Application for pension cards from now on in all post offices

The Post of Serbia and the Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO Fund) have made it possible to apply for pension cards in all post offices starting on August 8, 2023. The new service for pensioners was presented today at the Belgrade Main Post Office by Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, and Relja Ognjenović, Director of the Republic PIO Fund.

Pensioners who have not done so until now have the opportunity to apply for a free new generation pension card at the counters of more than 1,500 post offices throughout Serbia.

"This time as well, we are readily making available our most extensive national network at the service of an important state project, which brings numerous benefits, promotional prices and discounts to our oldest and most loyal customers. Our idea was to increase the number of access points to ensure equal opportunities and facilitate access and equal exercise of the right to apply for pensioners in remote and smaller places throughout our country. The Post itself will offer benefits for its products and services with the pension card. As pensions will be paid out at post offices in the coming days, we invite pensioners to visit post offices and use them to apply for a pension card, while they can do it daily at the post office closest to them," said Zoran Đorđević.

Relja Ognjenović said that the PIO Fund is working in parallel on the formation of a network of benefit providers, public institutions and business entities, which accepted the recommendation of the Government of Serbia and offered additional benefits for users of pension cards.

"We are richer for 1,500 branch offices, places where our pensioners will be able to apply for a new Pension Card, and this is a continuation of good practice, cooperation with state-owned enterprises, local self-governments, where we enabled our pensioners to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for a new generation Pension Card in their place of residence, in their local community or in their post office. To date, more than 660,000 pension card applications have been registered. More than 350 agreements have been signed with state institutions and companies from the private sector, which will provide pension card users with numerous discounts and benefits. A better life for our pensioners is a national interest, and we will try every day so that our pensioners live better today than they did yesterday", said Director Ognjenović.

Ognjenović thanked the Post for its involvement in the project, which, through a well-organized network of branches, will enable the application of a large number of users who have no other way to apply for a pension card.

Application and use of the new pension cards will begin on October 1.
