Green initiative: The first solar panels in the postal centre in Kragujevac
In the postal and logistics centre in Kragujevac, the Post of Serbia installed the first solar panels, thus beginning the integration of renewable energy sources into its system. In the next phase, it is planned to introduce solar panels in postal and logistics centres in Niš, Novi Sad and Belgrade.
By using solar panels in its facilities, the Post Serbia will generate a significant amount of electricity from renewable sources and use it to power plants, automatic sorting machines, for the needs of its own electric vehicle charging stations, as well as for other needs within the centres. Solar panels will enable business processes to be further automated and digitalized while reducing the cost of using electricity, which contributes to the complete automation of postal mail processing, which is a tendency with which postal operators, as well as the Post of Serbia, respond to the growth of express, parcel and logistics services.
This is a significant step towards a sustainable and ecologically responsible future of a company responsible for the community and environmental protection, by which the Post of Serbia will reduce the total consumption of electricity, reduce its carbon footprint and the emission of harmful gases and achieve significant benefits and savings in the long term.
