Exhibition "Vojvodina on postcards" until July 29 at the PTT Museum
The PTT Museum opened the thematic exhibition "Vojvodina on postcards" by Petar Savić, which presents the history of the development of postal traffic in Vojvodina in two thematic periods, from the end of the 19th century to 1945 and from 1945 to the present day. The exhibition was opened by the Head of the PTT Museum, Marko Jelić, and the author Petar Savić guided the guests through the exhibition.
The exhibition gives a chronological overview of correspondence cards - postcards, which illustrate the transmission of mail starting from the first ambulance post offices, through river, road and railway traffic, to the facilities through which traffic was carried out and connected with other parts of the country, such as bridges and post office buildings, and facilities important for industrialization, such as sugar refineries, industrial buildings, bathing areas and factories. The exhibition also offers historical information related to King Alexander, Queen Draga and Nikola Pašić, who are depicted on postcards. Each of the displayed postcards bears the publisher's name, information about where it came from and where it traveled, and also has philatelic significance.
The exhibition is completed by postal pins, river horns, lanterns. The exhibition is open to visitors until July 29, at the PTT Museum in Belgrade, 13 Majke Jevrosime St., during the Museum's working hours. Entrance is free of charge.
