Agreement concluded between the Post of Serbia and Oracle Corporation
Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, and Vladimir Laketa, the Sales Leader of the Oracle Corporation for Serbia, concluded an agreement on business cooperation whereby the Post becomes one of the first users of the first Oracle Cloud region in Southeast Europe - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) space and services in Kragujevac.
The signing was attended by the Ambassador of the United States of America in Belgrade, Christopher Hill, and the Minister of Information and Telecommunications of the Government of Serbia, Mihailo Jovanović.
Ambassador Hill expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the Post of Serbia and business representatives of the United States of America. "What is a challenge for every country, even for Serbia, as well as for the United States, is that financial services are made available not only in big cities, but also everywhere in the innermost parts of the country. It is a very good choice that Serbia has made in an effort to ensure that such services are available to all its citizens, considering that Oracle is one of the best corporations that provides all services based on Cloud technology", said Ambassador Hill.
Minister Mihailo Jovanović said: "Just a few weeks after the opening of the Oracle public cloud in the Government Data Center in Kragujevac, the Post of Serbia has shown agility and readiness to enter the market with new services that it will provide to citizens, but at the same time readiness to digitally transform itself and adapts its business operations to today's modern market. Through a network of over 1,500 branches, the Post of Serbia will make the services offered by Oracle available to citizens and businesses in smaller towns, while the capacities of this company will surely help the further digital transformation of the Post".
Vladimir Laketa pointed out that a partnership, non-commercial agreement was concluded with the Post, as part of the continuation of the cooperation with Serbia that has been going on for 20 years, ever since Oracle became present here. "This year we invested in Kragujevac, in Oracle Cloud for the region, offering the most modern technology and enabling companies and public enterprises to provide new services to citizens from the country and the region. We are pleased to have been chosen as a strategic partner, which will support the further development of services at the Post of Serbia and enable faster digital transformation, both of the Post and of smaller municipalities, because the first services that will be improved and offered to citizens and municipal administrations will be focused on less developed municipalities", said Laketa.
"The agreement with Oracle is an important step in the further digital transformation of the Post of Serbia, which puts the best cloud technologies at our disposal, for our own needs, but also guarantees the expansion of the range of IT services we provide in the form of new widely available IT services that we will offer to the market. The plan is to cooperate in several areas - in the eNotary and eArchive projects, in the development and distribution of applications for telecommunications operators, as well as to provide the less developed municipalities in Serbia with the same level of IT services, according to high security standards, as well as faster digital transformation, which will lead to the development of all electronic services provided to citizens by city municipalities", said Zoran Đorđević.
