The first "Postal Chess Cup" opened

The PTT Belgrade Chess Club organized the first "Postal Chess Cup", which was opened by the Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, with the symbolic drawing of the first move together with our famous chess player Alisa Marić.

"The tradition of playing chess at the Post of Serbia has existed for almost ninety years, and the chess club PTT Belgrade achieved great success in the decades behind us. Today, when we have a big name like Alisa Marić standing next to us, who helped us significantly in the past months by running a free chess school for the youngest in our club, our plans are even bigger. This tournament represents the first step, and I believe that in the coming period we will organize more chess events and tournaments, and establish more chess sections throughout the country," said Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.

Alisa Marić greeted the chess players employed by the Post of Serbia and wished them good moves, good combinations, fighting spirit and a successful tournament.

Sections of the Chess Club from the working and areal units of the Post of Serbia, as well as teams of postal workers from Zaječar, Niš, Vranje, Kraljevo, Čačak, Kragujevac, Šabac, Sremska Mitrovica and Belgrade participated in the Cup. The teams played on three boards, and the game time was limited to 15 minutes per player.
