Board of Directors’ meeting began with a minute of silence
Today's meeting of the Board of Directors of the Enterprise, which was held between the management and the Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, Zoran Đorđević, began with a minute of silence in memory of the tragic victims of yesterday's shooting at the "Vladislav Ribnikar" primary school in Belgrade.
On this occasion, the Post of Serbia issued a statement from Acting Director Đorđević, which we are hereby transcribing in full:
"On behalf of all the employees of PE Post of Serbia, and on my personal behalf, I express my deepest and most sincere condolences to the families of all the victims in yesterday's tragic event that horrified Serbia, and I wish all the injured a fast and successful recovery, aware of the fact that as a human being and as a parent - there are no words, neither sufficient nor worthy, to express and describe the sadness that, I'm sure, all citizens of Serbia feel, sharing in the pain of those who lost their loved ones.
What happened yesterday, what happened to all of us, and our society as a whole - is an unprecedented tragedy, in which no one is without blame, be it institutional, personal, general, or human, and everyone should do everything in their power, primarily as human beings and parents, but also within the scope of our individual competences and powers, that yesterday's tragedy be the last warning and the last such event - and we must all work together, unitedly, quickly and efficiently and do everything necessary to provide our children with a peaceful, safe and happy upbringing.
The measures proposed by President Aleksandar Vučić are the starting point and the direction in which our joint efforts should go, and it is up to each of us to, by examining ourselves and starting from our families and our own children, contribute to ensuring that nothing even remotely similar to yesterday's tragedy ever happens again.
The future cannot, must not and will not cover with oblivion the memory of those who lost their lives in yesterday's senseless crime, and we, the citizens of Serbia, each individually and all together, must do everything we can to place the innocent victims, the children before whom was the future, was life, as the highest value and the prevention of such terrors the goal of all our aspirations”, said Director Đorđević.
