Gift to the Military Museum on the occasion of Army Day

As part of the festivities marking the Day of the Serbian Armed Forces, the exhibition "Military flags of the Serbs from the First Serbian Uprising to the end of the First World War from the collections of the Military Museum" by Marijana Jovelić was opened in the Gallery of the Military Museum in Belgrade.

Gift of the Post of Serbia to the Military Museum, oil on canvas "Crossing of the Serbian Army through Albania in 1915" by Miloš Golubović, a war painter at the Supreme Command of the Serbian Army, was presented on this occasion.

"The Post of Serbia is hereby and with great pleasure handing over a national cultural asset of great value from the collection of the PTT Museum, an artistic painting that represents one of the most impressive works of Miloš Golubović, in which the central motif is the Albanian Golgotha, as a gift to the Military Museum to keep it in its rich museum collection, together with other works of the war painter Miloš Golubović that it inherits. We had no doubt that it’s proper place was here, and my proposal was unanimously accepted by the Supervisory Board of the Post of Serbia, as well as Minister Miloš Vučević, to whom, on this occasion, as well as to all members of our Armed Forces, I cordially congratulate the Serbian Armed Forces Day", said Zoran Đorđević.

Lt. Col. Nevenka Darmanović presented Director Đorđević with a certificate of appreciation for successful cooperation.

The exhibition "Military flags of the Serbs from the First Serbian Uprising to the end of the First World War from the collections of the Military Museum" is open for visitors in the Gallery of the Military Museum in Belgrade until June 20.
