SAF General Staff awarded Post of Serbia for successful cooperation
Ceremonial academy was held in the Guard House on Topčider on the occasion of 60 years of IT service and the Day of the Centre for Command and Information Systems and Information Support. At the ceremonial academy, PE Post of Serbia was recognized as an institution with which the Directorate for Telecommunications and Informatics (J-6) of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces has a successful cooperation.
The award was presented to Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, who during his tenure as Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia was responsible for the "special links" project, which included the Post, as one of the supporting subjects of that project.
The Day of the Information Service and the Day of the Centre for Command and Information Systems and Information Support are marked in memory of February 21, 1963, when the Sixth Directorate of the General Staff of the YNA was formed. This day is taken as the beginning of the introduction of computer technology in the Army and various business segments.
