The Post of Serbia presented and put into circulation an exclusive philatelic issue of postage stamps entitled "150 years since the birth of Nadežda Petrović", with motifs of ten art paintings of Nadežda Petrović from private collections, which have not been exhibited until now.
At the event held in the PTT Museum, Nikola Kusovac, a prominent Art Historian, and Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, spoke about the life and art of Nadežda Petrović, the motifs and importance of this philatelic project.
"We remember Nadežda Petrović with pride, gratitude and respect, and we plan to start the new rise of our philately with an extremely important philatelic project in honour of Nadežda Petrović. We are sure that this endeavour will have a significant impact on our cultural and artistic scene and expand the views and interpretations of the art of our great artist, humanist and patriot. We are proud that we succeeded in our efforts to make these masterpieces available to the public, and we are grateful for the kindness and generosity of the collectors who made it all possible", said Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.
On the commemorative postage stamp issue entitled "150 years since the birth of Nadežda Petrović", the motifs on the stamps are as follows: Red house in the countryside (1907); The facade of the Church of St. Mark in Venice (1914); Red Peonies (1913); motifs on vignettes - Prizren (1913); Anđa in the yard (1910–1911); Landscape (1907); Shepherd plays the fife (1906); motifs on envelopes: Cleaning caterpillars (1906); Portrait of Jovan Skerlić (1907); Sisters (1905).
