Belt conveyor put into operation in the Postal Centre in Zemun

The Post of Serbia continues with the technological modernization of the postal and logistics infrastructure, postal and logistics centres and branches. The Post acquired a new machine – a belt conveyor, which it implemented and put into operation on November 28 in the technology area of its largest Regional Postal and Logistics Centre in Zemun.

The belt conveyor serves to improve the process of manual sorting of non-processable postal items weighing up to 50 kilograms. It will significantly facilitate the work of employees, as well as the introduction of new executors; minimize the distance travelled with cargo, and speed up the entire process of sorting postal items. The machine is modular and easily adapts to the shape of the space in which work processes are carried out, with the possibility of adjusting the speed and changing the direction of movement.

"The strategic commitment of the Post of Serbia is the continuous improvement of logistic capacities, automation and digitalization in accordance with the requirements of customers and state institutions, as well as the development of respectable competition. In regional and local postal centres, we continue to increase the reliability of processing, while providing the necessary capacity to increase the volume of existing services. In addition to the machines for automated sorting of postal items that we already own, we continue to invest in new machines and equipment and the automation of work processes wherever possible, in the service of better and more efficient exploitation processes of sorting, transhipment, transport, storage, commissioning and other commercial market requirements, at the projected level of service quality. We do all this with the aim of even greater reliability and quality of the postal service, customer satisfaction, while also ensuring better working conditions for our employees", said Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia.
