Beginning of cooperation with Amazon
The management of the Post of Serbia held a meeting with representatives of the Amazon Company at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of PE Post of Serbia, Executive Director Nebojša Marković, Director of the Services Function Bojana Nikolić and Deputy Director of the Postal Network Function Viktor Kostić, spoke with the representatives of this globally acknowledged company about potential cooperation and presented the operations of the Post of Serbia.
At the meeting, it was discussed that postage prices for this region should be more affordable and twice as low as before, so that products ordered through the Amazon platform would be more affordable for end customers. Amazon representatives are also familiar with the law according to which postal items worth less than 50 euros are exempt from customs duty, with payment of VAT. Among other things, during the meeting the future of electronic commerce and the cooperation between Amazon and Post of Serbia in this segment was discussed, since this American multinational technology company is focused precisely on electronic commerce.
Amazon representatives are in Belgrade at the Western Balkan Regional Commercial Conference and Business-to-Business Event, organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the US Embassy in Serbia and the American Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Chamber Investment Forum. The conference is being held as part of the visit to Serbia and Montenegro by the Trade Mission of the US Government, which brings together 27 American companies with a business focus on information and communication technologies, energy and clean technology. More than 160 regional companies had the opportunity to hold B2B meetings with prominent American companies.
