Post at the Conference on the importance of women for rural areas

Zoran Đorđević, Acting Director of the Post of Serbia, attended the conference "Women as bearers of rural development" at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, where the results of the project implemented since 2017 by the ETNO Network Association, NALED and the Coordinating Body for Gender Equality of the Government of the Republic of Serbia were presented.

The project "Let's employ 1,000 women in rural areas" resulted in the employment of 1,002 women, and a broad campaign to activate relevant domestic and foreign partners and focus on women's problems in rural areas, providing support for women's empowerment and encouraging action and concrete measures to improve their position. The accompanying exhibition shows examples of best practice in the implementation of measures for the economic empowerment of women and unique traditional handicrafts.

An example of good practice is a similar project for the support and promotion of female entrepreneurship called "100 successful business women", which was implemented this year for the first time and with great success by the Post of Serbia. Among the hundreds of female candidates, 100 of the most successful entrepreneurs and business owners from all over Serbia were awarded, for whom the Post provided national business visibility by presenting them in a special publication.
