Gratitude for the successful European Championship
Today, the President of the Cycling Club "Novi Sad", Nemanja Vajs, presented Zoran Djordjević, Acting Director of the PE "Post of Serbia" with special recognition for his contribution to the successful organisation of the European Championship in mountain biking, which was held last August at the Petrovaradin Fortress.
More than 500 competitors from 44 European countries gathered at the Old Continent Championship in Novi Sad, and the Post of Serbia, as the organisation with the largest bicycle network in the country, contributed to the extraordinary organisation of this championship, which was realised for the first time at a medieval fortress. Unlike the usual trails that pass through mountain slopes and forests, the competition route at the European Championship in mountain biking in Novi Sad, partly stretched along the fortress walls and led through underground tunnels, where competitors passed right next to visitors.
